The SCAT passing through the tribune to start the second lap of the centenary event on
the Piccolo Circuito Madonie, which was used for the later Targa Florio events. SCAT of
course competed on the much longer Grande Circuito Madonie and also won the 1912 event which was the first to attempt the complete Giro di Sicilia, a circum navigation of the
whole island, which took Cyril Snipe-Pedrini nearly 24 hours, including an hour spent
fast asleep by the road side nearing the end of the lap!! His mechanic managed to
waken him in time to complete and win the event!!
